Format:
The
workshop will be a mix of oral presentations and break out discussions on
topics including:

Scale issues in image analysis and spatial databases for interpretation/visualization |
|
|
Data mining, spatial data retrieval and location-based services |
|
|
Image-based geospatial databases and multimedia in integrated spatial information systems |
|
|
Spatiotemporal analysis including modeling, queries, summarization and metadata |
|
|
Integration of multi-sensor data (e.g., optical imagery and laser/radar
interferometry) in landscape |
|
|
Applications in virtual reality and advanced visualization for 2-D, 3-D and 4-D mapping tasks |
|
|
Characteristics and issues related to data fusion at image, feature and information levels |

|
Mapping from high-resolution satellite imagery |
Future Publication:
Based
on extended abstracts and presentation at the workshop, selected best papers
will be invited for submission of full manuscripts which will be peer reviewed
for publication in a theme issue of the ISPRS Journal of Photogrammetry and
Remote Sensing.

The workshop will be held at the University of Georgia's Center for Continuing Education on campus. The Georgia Center is also a hotel facility so you can reserve a room with your reservation. Although an adequate number of rooms are being held in reserve for participants of this workshop, you should make your reservations before October 10, 2001. Room rates are provided below.

Submission: Authors
may update/expand abstracts to short papers of 4 to 5 pages in length for
publication in the Workshop proceedings. Please send updated
abstracts/short papers by September 25th via email to mmadden@crms.uga.edu
Following notification of abstract acceptance, there will be a chance for
authors to modify/update short papers
(4 to 5 pages in length) for publication in the Workshop proceedings.
These manuscripts should follow instructions
provided in
Appendix
B.3 of the ISPRS Orange Book,
"Guidelines for Authors Preparing Manuscripts for ISPRS
Sponsored Meetings" and be submitted as a MS Word document or in RTF
format to mmadden@crms.uga.edu
