Up one level

The CRMS sponsors short courses on the latest image processing and GIS techniques that attract representatives from academia, private industry and government agencies concerned with resource inventory and environmental monitoring.  In addition, the CRMS undertakes service projects for state and local agencies that require the transfer of mapping technologies.  Close associations are maintained with remote sensing organizations and scientists in Canada, Europe, South America and Asia through active involvement with the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) and the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS).

The CRMS, in conjunction with the Georgia Center for Continuing Education, conducts several short courses on the latest image processing, mapping and GIS techniques throughout the year. Drawing participants from throughout the United States and Canada, these classes attract representatives from academia, private industry and government agencies concerned with resource inventory and environmental monitoring.

Typical topics include the Integration of GPS, Digital Image Processing and GIS for Natural Resource Applications and training sessions on the Desktop Mapping System (DMS) and ArcView.

Individual training on specific topics also may be scheduled as needed.
