The CRMS sponsors short
courses on the latest image processing and GIS techniques that attract
representatives from academia, private industry and government agencies
concerned with resource inventory and environmental monitoring. In
addition, the CRMS undertakes service projects for state and local agencies that
require the transfer of mapping technologies.
Close associations are maintained with remote sensing organizations and
scientists in Canada,
Europe,
South America and Asia
through active involvement
with the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) and the
International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS).
The CRMS, in conjunction with
the Georgia Center for Continuing Education, conducts several short courses on
the latest image processing, mapping and GIS techniques throughout the year.
Drawing participants from throughout the United States and Canada, these classes
attract representatives from academia, private industry and government agencies
concerned with resource inventory and environmental monitoring.
Typical topics include the Integration of GPS, Digital Image Processing and
GIS for Natural Resource Applications and training sessions on the Desktop
Mapping System (DMS) and ArcView.
Individual training on specific topics also may be scheduled as needed.
