International Workshop

ISPRS WG IV/1, WG VIII/1 and WG IV/3 on

"Geospatial Data Cyber Infrastructure and Real-time

Services with special imphasis on Disaster Management"

November 25-27, 2009

Hyderabad, India

Background:

In recent years, significant developments have been made in Geospatial Data Cyber Infrastructure. Datasets of various types have been produced at national, regional and global levels. Efforts have also been made at city level. However, currently value-add services and operational applications of SDI are still at exploration stage. SDI has immense potential for use in Disaster Management. This leads to the idea of holding a workshop on this special topic.

Themes of Event:

  • Geospatial Databases and its applications

  • Geospatial Data Cyber Infrastructure

  • Web-based Geospatial Services

  • Geospatial Data Management

  • Vulnerability and Hazard Zone Mapping for Disasters

  • Geospatial Data and Applications for Disaster Management

  • Predictive modelling for disaster detection, early warning, monitoring, and damage assessment

  • Decision Support Systems and Standard Operating Procedures for Early Warning Systems

  • ICT for Disaster Management Support

  • Open / Participatory mapping using high resolution imagery and Interactive Web services

  • Application of High resolution Satellite and Airborne remote sensing data for Disaster Mapping / Management
